CHARITY CONCERT FEATURING JOSE CARRERAS HELD IN ZAGREB

ZAGREB, Sept 27 (Hina) - A big charity concert, featuring world- famous opera singers Jose Carreras and Cecilia Gasdia, took place in a packed Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb on Friday night. The proceeds will be donated to Children's Hospital in Zagreb and the international fund against leukemia which bears Carrera's name. The concert, also featuring the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Vjekoslav Sutej, was attended by President Franjo Tudjman and his wife, government and parliament officials, foreign diplomats, and cultural and public figures. Tudjman met the renowned artists before the concert and expressed satisfaction to see them in Zagreb after a meeting in Medjugorje. Carreras promised the Croatian president that he would visit Zagreb again.
