The Transitional Administration will also have, in line with
the U.N. Security Council Resolution 1037, to implement, in line
with Croatian jurisdiction, elections for the local bodies of
authority by 15 January 1996.
The draft resolution also proposes to the Croatian President
to take all necessary steps to secure the implementation of the
resolution.
The House of Representatives was also addressed by Croatian
Vice President Ivica Kostovic who said that any extension of the
current mandate would be counterproductive.
Kostovic reiterated Croatia's readiness to respect all
international standards as regards the Serb minority, recalling the
cooperativeness of the Croatian government.
It was very important that the MPs reach consensus on the
resolution, Croatian Parliament Chairman Vlatko Pavletic said.
