ZAGREB, Sept 18 (Hina) - Secretary at the Croatian Ministry of
Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications Mijo Petek on
Wednesday received the Parliamentary Secretary of the Canadian
International Trade Minister, Ron Mac Donald, who was accompanied
by Canadian Ambassador in Zagreb Graham Green, the Croatian
Ministry said in a statement.
The talks discussed the possibility of future cooperation
between Croatia and Canada in the fields of transport and
telecommunications and confirmed the mutual desire for cooperation
formulated in April 1996, particularly regarding shipping and civil
air transport. The Ministry said that a bilateral agreement on
civil air transport was currently being prepared.
The statement also said that the "Canak International"
Consulting Company from Montreal was making a study on the
restructuring of Croatian railways and that several Canadian
construction companies showed great interest in the building of
roads in Croatia.
Mac Donald invited Croatian Minister of Maritime Affairs,
Transport and Communications Zeljko Luzavec to visit Canada.
