LASTOVO, 12 Sept (Hina) - At today's government session held on the
island of Lastovo, Croatian Reconstruction and Development Minister
Jure Radic submitted a report on the situation in the areas of Ston
and Dubrovnik, which were recently hit by a quake.
There had been no casualties in the quake, Radic said, adding
that the Croatian army and police had helped organize life in the
area.
Some 200 houses in the Dubrovnik area and 270 houses in the
Ston area had been damaged by the quake. In most cases, the damaged
facilities were cultural monuments and it would take a lot of time
to reconstruct them, Radic said.
It is estimated that the reconstruction, which started
yesterday, would cost around 100 million kunas.
