ZAGREB, Aug 30 (Hina) - The Croatian Defence and National
Security Council met on Friday to discuss the current
situation in public companies and the implementation of
decisions on restructuring and rehabilitating the oil company
INA and Privredna Banka Zagreb, the Croatian President's
Office said in a statement.
The session, chaired by President Franjo Tudjman,
particularly focused on the situation after the signing of
agreements with the London and Paris Clubs on debt
rescheduling and the influence of those agreements on the
overall Croatian economy and especially on public companies.
The Council also discussed cases of official malpractice
and decided that a thorough investigation should be launched
and that adequate measures should be taken, the statement
concluded.
