SARAJEVO, Aug 29 (Hina) - Assistant U.S. State Secretary James Pardew on Thursday met with Croat and Moslem officials with the Federation Defense Ministry and high ranking officials of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO) headed by
generals Zeljko Siljeg and Rasim Delic.

Federation Defense Ministry and high ranking officials of the
Croatian Defense Council (HVO) headed by generals Zeljko Siljeg and

After the meeting Pardew said that he had arrived in Sarajevo
to induce a speedier implementation of the Defense Law and the
"Equip and Train" programme which he said was crucial for the
safety of the country.
He announced that the first delivery of American weapons for
the federal armed forces would arrive in Sarajevo on Thursday.
Bosnian Federation Defense Minister Vladimir Soljic said that
the meeting meant making concrete the signed agreements.
"A team with the MPRI company have been working on the field
for a month, preparations have been made and the 'Equip and Train'
programme may begin," Soljic said.
He stressed that special attention had been given to the
further organization of the Defense Ministry and the joint
headquarters of the Bosnian army and the HVO.
