SELCE, August 25 (Hina) - A seminar on European integrations and a
joint European policy led by lecturers from several European
countries, called "Europe 2000", began on Monday in Selce near
Crikvenica, northern coast of Croatia.
The seminar is organized by the Croatian Council of the
European Movement (HVEP), takes place until 31 August and gathers
some 30 participants from a dozen European countries and the United
States.
HVEP co-president and Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs Vladimir Matek pointed out the importance of European
integrations for Croatia as a central European and Mediterranean
country, particularly stressing the possibility of connecting
Croatia with central and western Europe, but refusing the
possibility of Croatia going towards Balkan integrations.
HVEP president Ljubomir Cucic presented the Europe House in
Zagreb as a young, but very important institution in Croatia. He
expressed satisfaction with the fact that guests from Europe and
the U.S. now came to Croatia as a peaceful and safe country.
The seminar continued with Cucic's lecture on the new security
system in Europe.
