ZAGREB, Aug 24 (Hina) - Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak
and Administration Minister Davorin Mlakar met in Vukovar on
Saturday with the UN Transitional Administrator of the Serb-held
area of eastern Croatia, Jacques Klein.
The talks focused on the further promotion of the work of
offices for issuing Croatian documents and on measures aimed at
increasing the level of security in that part of Croatia, an
Interior Ministry statement said.
It was agreed that the UN Transitional Administration would
undertake everything that was necessary to make registers of
citizens from that area available to the offices issuing Croatian
documents.
Jarnjak and Klein determined measures that would be taken by
the provisional police force to raise the level of security in
the area in line with the agreement on the normalization of
relations between Croatia and Yugoslavia that was signed in
Belgrade on Friday.
