DUBROVNIK, August 20 (Hina) - Mayor of Dubrovnik, south Croatia,
Nikola Obuljen, on Tuesday received humanitarian worker Frederica
Bunge from San Francisco, who greatly helped Croatian children
through the "Dora" Foundation.
Bunge started cooperating with "Dora" at the beginning of the
Serb aggression on Croatia, fighting for the protection of
children's rights and helping promote Croatia and "Dora" in the
United States.
With Bunge's help, the U.S. is providing aid for 5,000
children and 1,000 war victims.
Bunge expressed interest in the care of war victims' children
in the Dubrovnik area and Obuljen informed her of the "Mayors
Defenders of Children" programme, implemented with UNICEF's help in
ten Croatian towns, including Dubrovnik.
