BANJA LUKA/BUGOJNO, July 25 (Hina) - Bosnian Moslem police
threatened to open fire at an International Police Task Force
(IPTF) patrol trying to prevent the eviction of a family in the
western town of Bugojno on July 21, IPTF spokesman Alun Roberts
told Hina in an interview on Thursday.
Moslem police tried to arrest an IPTF member, and the deputy
chief of police in Bugojno said that he would order his men to
open fire at anyone "obstructing" the work of the local police,
Roberts said.
IPTF officials in Sarajevo were informed about the incident
and the Bosnian government was urged to take action.
Roberts said that proceedings were initiated on Thursday to
dismiss the deputy police chief and the president of the housing
committee in Bugojno.
