ZAGREB, July 2 (Hina) - Seven Party Alliance Councilors with the
Zagreb City Council are on Wednesday to file a complaint to the
Croatian Constitutional Court in order to protect the legality of
the work of the Zagreb executive authority, president of the Zagreb
City Council Zdravko Tomac told Tuesday's news conference.
It was not permissible to keep postponing the resolving of the
Zagreb crisis, Tomac said.
The Seven Party Alliance described the fact that the city
administration had been set up by the previous, HDZ-dominated
council as a problem.
Until the Constitutional Court passed a verdict, the agendas
for the Council's sessions would hold items which did not
necessarily have to be suggested by the city administration, Tomac
said.
He added that the "appointed Zagreb Mayor Marina Matulovic-
Dropulic had retained the power to implement the Council's
decisions".
Speaking about possible solutions to the crisis, Tomac said
that one possibility was to find a compromise based on electoral
results, the other would be to hold new elections.
He reiterated the readiness of the Seven Party Alliance to
hold talks with the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
