MOSTAR, June 21 (Hina) - President of the Council of European
Cities and Barcelona mayor, Pasqual Margall, on Friday visited
Mostar, where he held talks with EU Administrator for Mostar,
Ricardo Perez Casado, and Western (Croat) Mostar mayor, Mijo
Brajkovic, which focused on the reconstruction of Mostar and the
forthcoming elections. Eastern (Moslem) Mostar mayor, Safet
Orucevic, was also supposed to take part in the talks, but
according to Casado, he was "detained due to a visit to Norway".
After the meeting Margall said that the Council of European
Cities and Barcelona were willing to help Mostar's economic
development.
"Brajkovic told me that Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina needed a
town with a university, schools and other necessities and I agree
with that", Margall said.
Brajkovic said that the basic theses of today's talk was that
the Mostar elections scheduled for 30 June should be supported by
all sides.
