SARAJEVO, May 25 (Hina) - IFOR troops found on Friday large amounts
of unregistered weapons and ammunition in different parts of Serb-
controlled Bosnia, an IFOR spokesman said in Sarajevo on Saturday.
IFOR spokesman Max Marriner told a news conference that two
304-mm missiles had been found and seized in northern Bosnia, while
two M-55 anti-aircraft defence systems had been discovered in a
forbidden location in the southwestern part of the country.
Eight mobile SA-7 rocket launchers and a large amount of
ammunition was found in Sector Southeast. Ten unregistered
antiaircraft guns were found at another location in the sector.
All the weapons belonged to the Bosnian Serbs and were seized
under instructions from the commander of IFOR ground troops, Gen.
Michael Walker.
On Thursday, IFOR troops spotted a large group of Serb
civilians and a bulldozer about 200 metres from a suspected mass
grave site in the Brcko area of northeastern Bosnia, Marriner said.
The Serb authorities told IFOR that they were planning to
build a shoe factory there. IFOR allowed construction work to
continue but the suspected mass grave site would be placed under
increased supervision to prevent possible destruction of evidence.
Commenting on unconfirmed reports that IFOR had approved a
helicopter flight by Bosnian Serb military commander Ratko Mladic
to Belgrade to attend the funeral of his aide, General Djukic,
Marriner said that neither the cargo nor passengers on that flight
had been inspected.
We don't check all flights, Marriner said, stressing that
there was little likelihood that Mladic would have decided on such
a trip. He would have had to pass through the Posavina corridor, in
which case he would have been spotted by our personnel at Banja
Luka airbase, he added.
It was most likely that Mladic had travelled to Belgrade by
car, Marriner said.
The flight, that was suspected to have been used by Mladic,
had been requested by Bosnian Serb authorities for local commander
Gen. Ninkovic, the spokesman said.
