journalists took place on Friday afternoon at a UN checkpoint near
Brsadin, by the Vinkovci-Vukovar road (eastern Slavonia). The
meeting was organized by the UNTAES Civil Affairs Office. #L#
Reporters from Croatian TV, Vecernji List, Glas Slavonije and
Vinkovci News arrived together with five journalists from the
Croatian occupied Danubian area in a UNTAES vehicle for a meeting
opened by UNTAES official Piper Campbell.
The journalists held talks on free and objective reporting.
A joint statement announcing further meetings was signed at
the end of the meeting. The dates and places of the meetings will
be arranged by one journalist from each delegation and UNTAES.
Present at the meeting was also the head of UNTAES civil
affairs in Vinkovci Paavo Pittkannen, who wished journalists
success in their talks.
