COAL MINERS' STRIKE IN BOSNIA TO CONTINUE

SARAJEVO, May 15 (Hina) - The coal miners' strike in central and north-eastern Bosnia is likely to continue until the Bosnian Government caves in and increases the salaries. Trade union and strikers' representatives today notified the Federal Ministry of Power Supply and Mining that the minimum acceptable salary for this month was DM 200; as of June, the miners' salaries should equal those paid to Bosnian Electric Utility employees. The miners' average salary in April was DM 80. Minister Enver Kreso said the miners' demands were justified and that the Government would consider them. However, the miners' salaries would depend on the ministry's ability to collect electricity bills from the population. During the war, electric power was free.
