ZAGREB, May 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's House of
Representatives on Wednesday adopted a 29-item agenda and discussed
draft amendments to several acts.
Deputies discussed draft amendments to the acts on the
Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences, the payment of "Save the
Children of Croatia" and "Stop White Death" postal stamps, and the
sanitary control of food. The draft amendments to the latter act
referred to a ban on advertising alcohol and tobacco products.
During the debate on the said amendments, opposition
representatives took the floor to protest against the police
interrogation of the editor and a journalist of the Split-based
satirical weekly "Feral Tribune", Viktor Ivancic and Marinko Culic,
and an assault on lawyer Slobodan Budak in Zagreb. They were
cautioned by House speaker Vlatko Pavletic to stop obstructing the
session.
