SARAJEVO, April 21 (Hina) - Bosnian Serbs clashed with Moslem and
Croat refugees who tried to visit their homes in the northern
town of Doboj on Sunday, Sarajevo radio said.
Several Moslem and Croat civilians were injured when angry
Serbs threw stones at them, the radio said, adding that the
confrontation was stopped by IFOR troops escorting the refugees.
IFOR officials in Sarajevo confirmed the incident, saying
that it ended without grave consequences.
It was not clear how many people were involved in the
confrontation. Bosnian government sources spoke of large groups
on both sides while IFOR officials maintained that there were
about one hundred people.
Local authorities in parts of the Doboj municipality under
Moslem-Croat Federation control said that among the instigators
of the conflict there were many Serb policemen and members
paramilitary forces who had fought Bosnian government forces on
the Mount Ozren front.
The situation calmed down on Sunday afternoon and the
refugees began returning to their temporary homes.
