WASHINGTON, April 10 (Hina) - US Commerce Secretary Ronald Brown,
who died together with 34 other passengers in a plane crash in
Croatia last week, was buried in Washington's Arlington National
Cemetery on Wednesday in a close circle of family, friends and
associates.
Speaking at a memorial service in Washington National
Cathedral, US President Bill Clinton said that Brown was a true
leader, a trailblazer, a builder, a patriot, a husband, a father,
a wonderful friend and a great American.
"He lived his life for America, and when the time came,
found himself laying down his life for America," Clinton said.
"Thank you. If it weren't for you, I would not be here", he
said.
Brown's son Michael thanked all those who participated in
the search following the plane crash.
The memorial service was also attended by a Croatian state
delegation, led by Premier Zlatko Matesa.
