DAVOR, 2 April(Hina) - An exchange of POWs that took place
Tuesday evening at the village of Davor (app. 160 km SE of
Zagreb) was only partially successful because Bosnian Serbs
failed to honour their obligations from a Sarajevo agreement on
exchange of POWs.
The Croats met the agreement and handed to Bosnian Serbs
14 POWs, whereas the other party released only six detainees,
including pilot Cool Vladimir Sumanovac, HV Ante Glavan and Ivan
Pupic, members of the 126th Sinj brigade, Leo Cvjetic, member of
the 6th professional brigade of the HV, Josip Bracun, member of
the 7th professional brigade of the HV and the civilian Zeljko
Ikica.
Head of the Croatian government commission for POWs the
missing persons, Maj. Ivan Grujic, said the Serbs also failed to
provide any detailed information on the plight of pilot Rudolf
Peresin, thus breaching the Sarajevo agreement of 30 March.
Considering that the Serbs did not show up with all persons
that have been designated for the exchange, it is not surprising
they did not disclose any information on Peresin's destiny, says
Ivan Grujic. From that he concludes Serb authorities are not
fully committed to the resolution of the problem.
