WASHINGTON, March 27 (Hina) - Croatian Ambassador to the United
States, Miomir Zuzul, on Tuesday discussed certain aspects of the
implementation of the Bosnia peace accord with Assistant US
Secretary of State, John Kornblum.
The United States expected Croatia to play a positive role in
the development of the Bosnian Federation, the Croatian embassy
summed up the talks.
It was said that facors such as cooperation with the
International War Crimes Tribunal and the implementation of the
Federation project could affect the good relations between the US
and Croatia, the embassy said in a statement.
The meeting voiced concern over the postponement of a working
celebration of the Federation's second anniversary, which was to
take place in Bonn, Germany.
Later in the afternoon, Ambassador Zuzul met the chairman of
the House of Representatives international relations committee,
Benjamin Gilman, with whom he discussed the future of the Croat-
Moslem Federation after IFOR's departure.
Also discussed was the normalization of relations between
Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Gilman was interested in new bills being currently debated in
the Croatian Parliament, namely the amendments to the Associations
Act, the amendments to the penal code relative to the freedom of
the media and the appointment of the Zagreb Mayor.
