General Walker today chaired a meeting of the joint military
commission for the implementation of the peace agreement. At a
press conference, held in the NATO headquarters in Ilidza, Walker
said that so far he was completely satisfied with the
implementation of the peace agreement.
There was no reason whatsoever to believe that any of the
sides avoided the implementation of regulations of the Dayton
agreement, Walker said, adding that this also referred to the
Bosnian army, although it had failed to withdraw all its forces
from the City of Sarajevo by the set deadlines.
He also said that it was necessary for the political leaders
in Bosnia-Herzegovina to determine their policies so that the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina could really start to function.
The federal project was extremely important for the
stabilization of the peace process, Walker said.
