ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - The Monday edition of the Zagreb-based
daily VJESNIK runs a front-page article on a visit by Croatian
President Franjo Tudjman to Zadar County, under the headline "We
Have Created a Democratic System and Invincible Armed Forces."
Vjesnik includes coverage of a visit by a delegation of the
European association of judges and prosecutors (MEDEL), who were
informed about changes in Croatian legislation.
Following a recent visit to Croatia by Yugoslav Foreign
Minister Milan Milutinovic, the paper carries an article on the
problem of the still occupied areas of eastern Croatia, saying in
part:
"While the international community (...) wants to peacefully
reintegrate Eastern Slavonia and Baranja within the
internationally recognized borders of Croatia, the Serbs continue
to claim that the areas are 'ancient Serb land'."
Vjesnik publishes an interview with Education Minister
Ljilja Vokic.
The paper runs a story on difficulties in the implementation
of civilian aspects of the Dayton peace agreement in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
Vjesnik runs coverage of Foreign Minister Mate Granic's
visit to Dubrovnik and Ploce under the headline "Free Trade Zone
- Priority Interest."
Another Zagreb-based daily, VECERNJI LIST, also covers the
visits by President Franjo Tudjman and Foreign Minister Mate
Granic.
"To Implement Dayton Agreement - Penalties and Concessions"
is the headline of a Vecernji List story ahead of a US-sponsored
meeting in Geneva on Monday.
Vecerji List runs an interview with Luka Bebic, head of the
National Security Office, under the headline "We Don't Want to
Have Dossiers."
The paper includes an article on the dismissal of Bakir
Alispahic as chief of the Bosnian secret service "Research and
Information Agency (AID)."
