ZAGREB, March 18 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman left
for Geneva on Monday to participate in talks aimed at encouraging
the further implementation of a US-sponsored peace agreement in
Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The meeting, organized by US Secretary of State Warren
Christopher, would involve Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic,
Bosnian Presidency member Ejup Ganic and Contact Group
representatives.
They would make preparations for a meeting of foreign
ministers of the Contact Group, Croatia, Serbian-led Yugoslavia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina scheduled to take place in Moscow on March
23.
"Croatia wants to step up the process of resolving the
problem of the (Serb-occupied) Croatian Danubian area," Tudjman
told reporters at Zagreb airport.
He added that the Geneva talks would focus on Bosnia-
Herzegovina and efforts to make the Croat-Moslem federation
viable.
Tudjman said that the meeting would help coordinate efforts
by all parties but that nothing new should be expected.
The Croatian delegation travelling to Geneva included
Foreign Minister Mate Granic, his first assistant Ivan Simonovic,
Presidential Aide-de-Camp Major General Kresimir Kaspar and State
Protocol Director Ivan Misetic. They were accompanied by the US
Ambassador to Croatia, Peter Galbraith.
