$ ARBARIN ROV BE DISCLOSED
LJUBLJANA, Feb 26 (Hina) - An association called "The Lime of
Reconciliation" which advocates the marking of mass graves in
Slovenia, Monday sent a public letter to the Slovenian Interior
Minister, Andrej Ster, calling on him to disclose the truth about
the Barbarin Rov location (about 70 kilometres west of
Ljubljana), where remains of 8,000 bodies of soldiers and
civilians killed after World War II are believed to be buried.
The Association's head, Stanislav Klep, cited statements by
local residents and a statement by unnamed person who witnessed
the mass executions in the area from 7 May until late June 1945.
"The first victims were Croat civilians, among whom were old
people, women and children who had been captured between Hrastnik
and Lasko," Klep said in the letter.
Among the killed were also Slovenian home guards, members of
the military troops of the Independent State of Croatia (NDH,
1941-1945).
