SARAJEVO, Feb 19 (Hina) - Bosnian Federation President Kresimir
Zubak on Monday sent a letter to the deputy high representative
of the international community in charge of implementing the
civil part of the Dayton peace accord, Michael Steiner, asking
for the NATO-led peace Implementation Force (IFOR) to lift the
blockade of the central Bosnian towns of Vares and Dastankso.
The letter, quoted by the Bosnian Croat news agency HABENA,
said that the Moslem authorities in Vares had completely blocked
the area on 19 February.
Police patrols had blocked the traffic and telephone lines
and electric power supply were blocked, Zubak wrote.
He said that Ljubo Kasapovic, a member of the Vares
municipal council had been forced to leave the town.
Zubak concluded the letter by asking Steiner to use his
influence so that the harassment of Croats in the area was
stopped.
