MOSTAR, Feb 15 (Hina) - The mayors of the western and eastern part
of Mostar, Mijo Brajkovic and Safet Orucevic, are to meet in
Sarajevo on Friday and Saturday.
The meeting will be attended by Bosnian Federation President
Kresimir Zubak, Vice-President Ejup Ganic, and Foreign Minister
Jadranko Prlic, Mostar alderman Mile Puljic told reporters today.
The meeting would focus on a "possible new solution for
Mostar," according to Puljic.
The Sarajevo meeting was called ahead of the Feb 26 meeting of
the EU Ministerial Council, Puljic said.
"The Croatian side will not budge an inch," he announced.
Other Western Mostar aldermen complained that the funds the EU
Administration earmarked for their part of the town were ten times
less than those earmarked for eastern Mostar.
Over 76 million deutschmarks were earmarked for the
reconstruction of eastern Mostar and only 12,955,000 for western
Mostar, aldermen pointed out.
The public health sector in eastern Mostar received DEM
4,832,000, while western Mostar doctors had to make do with a
meagre sum of DEM 468,000, even though eastern Mostar residents
received free care in the western part, aldermen detailed.
