WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (Hina) - The State Department last night confirmed that the Contact Group for Bosnia-Herzegovina would hold a meeting with Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic, Croatia's President Franjo Tudjman and Serbia's
Slobodan Milosevic in Rome at the end of this week.
WASHINGTON, Feb 15 (Hina) - The State Department last night
confirmed that the Contact Group for Bosnia-Herzegovina would hold
a meeting with Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic, Croatia's
President Franjo Tudjman and Serbia's Slobodan Milosevic in Rome at
the end of this week. #L#
Spokesman for the State Department, Nicholas Burns, said that
the aim of the meeting was for all sides to confirm their
commitment to the implementation of the Dayton agreement.
The conference in Rome would tackle all aspects of the
implementation of the Dayton agreement and possibilities of a
speedy solution to all difficulties relating to the implementation,
Burns added.
The U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher expected that
similar meetings would be held regularly in the course of the
Dayton peace process, Burns added.
He further stressed the firm determination of his country to
make the Dayton agreement work.
The Rome conference will be hosted by Italy. Other
participants at the conference will be the European Union, the
United States, Russia, France, Germany and Great Britain as well as
IFOR and OSCE representatives and representatives of other
international organizations.
