ZAGREB, Jan 31 (Hina) - 'Parliament Adopts State Budget' reads a
headline on the front page of the Croatian daily 'VJESNIK'.
Today's commentary piece by Maja Freundlich is headlined
'Post-War Period'. 'If Croatia develops, we too will be personally
and individually richer. Only thieves can hope for quick money.
Those who do not want to become thieves have to admit that now,
only after military victories have been achieved, conditions for
the development of private capital and regular market, are
beginning to be created', Freundlich says.
The main piece of news in another Croatian daily, 'VECERNJI
LIST', is again 'the adoption of the first development budget'.
'European Price of Normalisation' reads the headline of a
commentary piece by Visnja Staresina who writes about the fact that
the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia is not an internationally
recognized state. 'When we compare conditions Croatia had to meet
in order to gain international recognition to those which are now
placed before the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, it becomes
obvious that standards are not the same. However, despite this
partial departure from earlier principles, things are beginning to
come into their own place: Serbia is much smaller than it had been
planned and its president has become much more 'European-like' and
tamer', Staresina writes.
The paper also brings an interview with Bozo Raic, president
of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) branch in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
