ZAGREB, Jan 26 (Hina) - The Croatian Serb cultural society
"Prosvjeta" opened a library in Zagreb on Friday.
"Prosvjeta wants to contribute to understanding and reviving
of Serbian-Croatian cultural ties. The opening of this library is
one form of our aspirations," Prosvjeta director Velimir Sekulic
said at the opening ceremony.
The library has about 5,500 books worth about DM 40,000. The
Croatian National and University Library, the Open Society
foundation and Zagreb libraries helped in the equipping of the
Prosvjeta library, Sekulic said.
The library was opened by philospher Veselin Golubovic and the
ceremony was attended by Culture Minister Zlatko Minister,
government officials, representatives of non-governmental
organizations, political parties and minorities, and the head of
the Yugoslav Office in Zagreb, Veljko Knezevic.
