CROATIA SUPPORTS MOSTAR'S E.U. ADMINISTRATOR - GRANIC

Autor:
ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - Croatia supports Mostar's EU adminstrator Hans Koschnik and his arbitration in all issues which Moslems and Croats cannot resolve together, Foreign Minister Mate Granic said in Zagreb after meeting EU foreign relations commissioner Hans van den Broek. "We expect that Koschnik will pass decisions on the delimitation of districts, and Croatia will give them strong support," Granic told a press conference in the Presidential Palace. "President Tudjman has reiterated that he is willing to send as many police officers as required and place them under Koschnik's command to establish full law and order, a joint police force, and eventually full freedom of movement in Mostar," Granic said. Van den Broek assessed the development of the situation in Eastern Slavonia as encouraging, adding that its reintegration was in sight. The process has not finished yet but the EU is very encouraged and there is a real prospect that Eastern Slavonia will be reintegrated in a peaceful way, Van den Broek said. He added that today's meeting also focused on ways in which Croatia, the EU and the US could continue to work on the reintegration process together. Van den Broek reiterated the EU's support to the stability of the Moslem-Croat federation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, thanking Croatia for the role it was willing to play in establishing the federation and keeping the peace. During the talks between Granic and Van den Broek, Granic said that the Croatian government was willing to put before Parliament a bill on cooperation with the Hague-based war crimes tribunal, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
