Sarajevo television last night broadcast a one-hour interview
with the President of the Bosnian Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic,
who sharply condemned the latest actions of the Bosnian Premier,
accusing him of presenting false information to the public.
The Act on the Government of Bosnia-Herzegovina had been
adopted in accordance with the law and it did not 'threaten the
interests of Bosnia-Herzegovina, freedom or democracy, as Silajdzic
is claiming'.
Instead of dealing with concrete questions, Silajdzic was
engaged in 'high politics', Izetbegovic said.
'Times change and after the end of the war we don't need
leaders, politicians and good orators but managers', Izetbegovic
said, indirectly accusing the government of failing to secure
salaries for workers and soldiers.
Most important problems were social problems which could not
be defeated by high politics, Izetbegovic said.
