RELEASE OF POWS TO BE RESUMED, BOSNIA'S SACIRBEY SAYS

SARAJEVO, Jan 19 (Hina) - Bosnian Foreign Minister Muhamed Sacirbey today confirmed that the release of prisoners-of-war would resume since it now seemed that a solution could be found to most of his Government's objections. The issue also figured on the agenda of a Bosnian Presidency meeting following the arrival of US mediator Richard Holbrooke last night. The Presidency did not release any information about what was decided at the meeting but Minister Sacirbey said today that the release of prisoners would be assisted by NATO forces deployed in Bosnia-Herzegovina. An agreement defining the conditions under which NATO would secure access to jails, detention camps and suspected mass grave sites was being drafted, Sacirbey specified. He announced that the lists of persons who were reported missing after the Serb onslaught on Srebrenica in July would soon be disclosed. The Bosnian Government also expected the fate of certain people who had unaccountably disappeared from Serb prisoner lists to be elucidated with the assistance of the International Red Cross.
