ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Zagreb City Assembly president was invited on Friday to ceremonially open the first McDonald's restaurant in the city. The City Assembly speaker, Zdravko Tomac, met in his office the representatives of the
McDonald's Croatia Co. headed by the company's manager Paul Connan who invited Tomac to open the fast- food parlor on February 1.
ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Zagreb City Assembly president was invited
on Friday to ceremonially open the first McDonald's restaurant in
the city.
The City Assembly speaker, Zdravko Tomac, met in his office
the representatives of the McDonald's Croatia Co. headed by the
company's manager Paul Connan who invited Tomac to open the fast-
food parlor on February 1. #L#
Tomac accepted, saying that McDonald's and Coca-Cola were
important symbols in post-communist countries through which they
attempted to move to the democratic environment of the West.
He also voiced satisfaction that Croatian caterers would also
be included into business, while a number of local professionals
would take part in management of the Croatian McDonald's.
Connan said the restaurant would be open daily from 8 a.m. to
11 p.m. for the time being, pledging "extremely low prices."
He added several new restaurants would be furnished and opened
in the city over next few months.
