ZAGREB, Jan 18 (Hina) - The Croatian Interior Ministry issued a
statement on Thursday rejecting arbitrary media reports on the
transit through Croatia of groups of Islamic fighters who had
fought on the government side in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
"Besides arbitrary information that police allegedly detained
members of these groups at border crossings betwen Bosnia-
Herzegovina and Croatia because they did not have documents,
unidentified sources presented contradictory and at any rate
exaggerated numbers of Mujheddin fighters who entered the Republic
of Croatia and left for their destinations," the statement said.
The statement added that 29 members of Mujaheddin forces
entered and left Croatia between January 16 and 18, 1996.
