ZAGREB, Jan 18 (Hina) - Croatian and Bulgarian businessmen and
bankers met in the Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK) in Zagreb on
Thursday to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
The director of the HGK's infrastructure department, Zlatan
Froelich, described current economic cooperation between Croatia
and Bulgaria as insufficient, especially for Croatia.
Froelich said that last year's import from Bulgaria reached
USD 20 million while export to this country reached only USD 5
million.
He added that the two countries traded in food, chemical,
electronic and wood products.
Kirl Velev, economic adviser to the Bulgarian president, said
that Bulgaria mostly exported raw materials and imported finished
products.
Bulgarian businessmen stressed great possibilities of
cooperation in the building industry.
