ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - The Thursday edition of the Zagreb-based
daily VJESNIK runs a front-page article on Bulgarian President
Zhelyu Zhelev's visit to Croatia.
The article, headlined "Agreement on Friendship and
Cooperation Signed", quoted Zhelev as recalling that Bulgaria was
among the first countries to recognize Croatia as an independent
state.
Vjesnik covers the House of Representatatives session under
the headlines "Government Not Responsible for Damage Caused by
Terrorism" and "Construction of Nuclear Power Plants Ruled Out."
"A Slap to Normalization in Mostar" is the headline of a
Vjesnik commentary on recent accusations of Croatian policy and
leadership by Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic and the Mayor
of Moslem-held east Mostar, Safet Orucevic.
Another Zagreb daily, VECERNJI LIST, runs a front-page
headline on the arrival of the Bulgarian president for a three-day
official visit to Croatia and displays a photograph of the
Bulgarian and Croatian presidents reviewing a guard of honour
outside the Presidential Palace in Zagreb.
Vecernji List includes an article on Croatian-Bulgarian
relations under the headline "Tradional Friend."
"Government Agrees to Wage Talks" with unions is the headline
of Vecernji List's coverage of the government session.
Vecernnji List carries an article analyzing the functioning of
the Bosnian Croat-Moslem federation.
