SARAJEVO, Jan 7 (Hina) - Senior Bosnian Croat officials on Sunday
protested over the way in which Bosnian television presented
their statement on the situation in the southern town of Mostar.
Bosnian Federation president Kresimir Zubak and several
other Croat officials of the Republic and Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina said in a statement that only some parts of their
official statement on the situation in Mostar were read in a
prime-time news programme Saturday night.
The statement said that the Bosnian public was not
informed about a crime that had taken place in the Usora area of
north-central Bosnia on Christmas Eve when two Croatian Defence
Council (HVO) troops had been killed, after which government
authorities had allegedly removed all physical evidence of the
crime.
"If we want a true peace, democracy, equal rights and
freedom of speech, Television of Bosnia-Herzegovina should be
thoroughly changed for the sake of the Bosnian public; the
public must not be informed selectively, by witholding, censoring
or manipulating the facts," the statement said.
