ZAGREB, Dec 23 (Hina) - FORUM 21, a recently established group of
reporters of electronic media in Croatia, hailed the decision of
the Croatian Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications and
the Telecommunication Council about a 60 per cent reduction in
annual fees for radio and television concessions.
The FORUM 21 expressed their satisfaction, stressing that "such a
decision by the Ministry is the beginning of the realisation of one
request from the FORUM 21 constitutive document which suggests to
the Croatian government to reduce fees for concessions to amou nts
corresponding with the economic situation in Croatia".
"FORUM 21 expects of the Croatian government further steps in
terminating state control and monopoly over the Croatian Radio and
Television in its work," they said.
