SARAJEVO, Dec 20 (Hina) - Soldiers of the NATO-led peace
Stabilisation Force (SFOR) searched Bosnian army wartime
headquarters and the nearby central prison in Sarajevo overnight.
The operation was conducted at the request of the International
Police Task Force (IPTF), while NATO troops only provided security,
SFOR spokesman Louis Garneau told Hina on Saturday morning.
UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko said in Sarajevo that the IPTF could
not comment on the operation for the time being.
The Sarajevo daily Oslobodjenje said that IPTF and SFOR personnel
had left the buildings with four to five boxes with documents, video
tapes and computer disks.
The area around the two buildings was sealed off between 21.30 hours
on Friday and 2.00 hours on Saturday. Oslobodjenje carried a
photograph from which it could be concluded that SFOR German and
French troops had taken part in the raid.
