ZAGREB, 21 Nov (Hina) - The Croatian Tourism Ministry and Croatian
Radio Television (HRT) on Friday signed an agreement on cooperation
in promoting Croatian tourism abroad via satellite television.
The agreement was signed by Tourism Minister Sergej Morsan and HRT
General Director Ivica Mudrinic, in the presence of Premier Zlatko
Matesa.
Under the agreement, HRT is to broadcast via its satellite
television program panoramic pictures from certain tourist
locations on the Adriatic coast and inland Croatia. The program
will be broadcast every day before the beginning of regular HRT
programs.
The panoramic pictures will be accompanied by data on weather
conditions, air and water temperature, number of sunny hours,
atmospheric pressure, wind, etc.
Premier Matesa announced that the broadcasting would start next
Easter.
The project includes the promotion of the coastal towns of
Dubrovnik, Split, Sibenik, Zadar, Opatija and Pula, the island of
Hvar, Plitvice lakes, Krapina and Bizovac spas.
The first stage of the project will be financed by the Tourism
Ministry with three million kuna (US$500,000) and by HRT with
599,000 kuna (US$99,800).
