ZAGREB, Nov 20 (Hina) - The Republic of Croatia supported efforts of
the UN Security Council, USA and the whole international community,
aimed at solving the tension and crisis in the Gulf, and believed
that the Iraqi government, as a full member of the UN, was obligated
to apply all relevant UN resolutions and decisions reached with the
aim of strengthening peace and stability in the region, the
Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
Croatia firmly believed that the basic interest of all members of
the international community was to preserve peace and security, as
well as to resolve all conflicts peacefully, where applying the UN
documents played an important role.
Croatia hailed the most recent news which pointed to the
possibility of a peaceful solution to the tensions being found by
negotiations, the statement said.
