OSIJEK, 15 Nov (Hina) - The Osijek Association of the Families of
Imprisoned and Missing Croatian Soldiers on Saturday organised the
presentation of the film and videocassette "The Wall of Tears" by
Shenida Billalli, on the occasion of 18 November, the day of the
Serb occupation of Vukovar.
The Association's president Stefica Krstic said that there are
2,198 missing persons in Croatia, 1,376 of them in the U.N.-
administered area of eastern Slavonia.
We still cannot visit the graves of our dearest ones and that is why
we think that that part of Croatia is still occupied, said Krstic
adding that the parents and families of missing persons would not
give up the search for the truth, no matter how bitter it might be.
The film and videocassette 'The Wall of Tears" presents stories by
Vukovar victims, and was named after a brick wall built by the
families of missing persons in front of the UNPROFOR headquarters
in Zagreb in 1992. Each brick bears the name of one missing person.
The presentation was attended by representatives of the majority of
Croatian associations of Homeland war victims and U.N.
Transitional Administration in Eastern Slavonia (UNTAES).
