DUBROVNIK, 30 Oct (Hina) - Dubrovnik mayor Vido Bogdanovic on
Thursday received the president of the French Constitutional
Council Roland Dumas and his associates, who were accompanied by a
Croatian Constitutional Court delegation, led by Constitutional
Court President Jadranko Crnic.
The meeting was also attended by the French Ambassador to Croatia,
Jean-Jacques Gaillarde, and Croatia's Ambassador to France,
Smiljan Simac.
Crnic said that the French delegation and their hosts would
discuss, among other things, constitutional and legal problems,
which the courts of the two countries encountered, as well as the
protection of basic freedoms and human rights.
The ties between our two constitutional courts have been developing
successfully since 1993 when the Croatian Constitutional Court
became a member of the European Conference of Constitutional
Courts.
Dubrovnik mayor Bogdanovic informed his guests about the current
situation in the area of Dubrovnik, in particular the
reconstruction process and economic opportunities.
