SARAJEVO, Oct 27 (Hina) - A transitional election commission in
Bosnia-Herzegovina acting within the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe completed the check-up of documents relating
to the Mostar City Council election and confirmed previously issued
election results, OSCE spokesman Johan Verhayden told reporters in
Sarajevo on Monday.
Verhayden recalled that the Coalition for Integral and Democratic
BH won 14 and the Croatian Democratic Union Party of BH ten
representative seats. The check-up of election documents was done
at a request of the HDZ BH, but did not mean a renewed counting of
votes, he added.
There were numerous problems in the implementation of election
results in various parts of BH, Verhayden said.
Bosnian Serb representatives currently controlling Srebrenica,
eastern BH, threatened to arrest five representatives of the Party
of Democratic Action elected for the Srebrenica Municipal Council,
the OSCE spokesman said.
The situation was similar in Bosniak (Muslim)-controlled Velika
Kladusa, western BH, he added, where elected representatives of the
Democratic National Union were too threatened with arrests.
This was a serious issue which Bosnian authorities and all those
involved would have to deal with, since the OSCE could not solve the
matter alone, spokesman Verhayden concluded.
