SARAJEVO, Oct 19 (Hina) - The OSCE (Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe) mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina said on Sunday
that political parties and independent candidates that wish to
participate in the forthcoming election for the Bosnian Serb's
assembly should submit their application by 05.00 pm Monday.
A statement, of the OSCE mission forwarded to Sarajevo media,
read that this obligation refers to all parties or associations
nevertheless whether they have already taken part in elections or
not.
Whoever would like to be a candidate in the parliamentary
election must be of adult age and listed on Bosnian Serb entity's
voter rolls.
Independent candidates must also collect signatures of at
least 800 people supporting their candidacy.
None of persons against whom the international War Criminal
Tribunal has instigated proceedings, is allowed to take part in the
election.
The election for the Bosnian Serb 83-seated assembly is
scheduled for 23 November. Serb headliners at Pale opposed the
holding of the election unless the presidential election may be
conducted as well.
