ZAGREB, Oct 16 (Hina) - Croatian and Austrian Armed Forces'
representatives have adjusted the text of an agreement on bilateral
military cooperation.
The Croatian Army headquarters chief-of-staff, Lieutenant
General Pavao Miljavac, and the Austrian Army chief inspector,
General Karl Majcen, who is heading an Austrian military delegation,
on Thursday agreed in Zagreb on concrete plans for the future
cooperation between the two armies.
We agreed with Gen. Majcen on time limits and expert groups
for elaborating cooperation in education and training, Gen. Miljavac
said after the talks.
Croatia and Austria are planning the exchange of delegations
at military exercises and the visit of Austrian officers non-
commissioned officers to Croatian military academies.
On Thursday's meeting Gen. Miljavac, Rear Admiral Davor
Domazet and Lieutenant General Josip Lucic talked with the Austrian
delegation about some parts of the general defence policy of the
wide region, Gen. Miljavac added.
He described the cooperation between Croatian and Austrian
armed forces as good.
Deputy Defence Minister, Lieutenant General Kresimir Cosic,
received Austrian General Majcen as well.
Cosic and Majcen discussed the forthcoming meeting of Austrian
Defence Minister Werner Fasslebend with his Croatian counterpart
Gojko Susak when the two ministers should sign the agreement on
military cooperation.
According to a statement released by the defence ministry,
Cosic notified the Austrian guest of the re-organisation of this
Croatian ministry and of Croatia's wish to join speedily European
military and security associations.
