ZAGREB, Oct 13 (Hina) - Representatives of the Croatian parliament,
government and associations of ethnic communities and minorities
met in Zagreb on Monday to discuss a draft document on establishing
a Council of Ethnic Communities and Minorities as a non-governmental
organisation.
The Council, whose establishment was proposed by the Council
of Europe's Venice Commission, would be a coordination and advisory
body comprising representatives of the associations of ethnic
communities and minorities in Croatia which would be dealing with
problems relating to the rights and position of national minorities.
The Council is expected to be founded in the next ten days or
so after a working group has drafted the final text of the document
on its establishment.
