ZAGREB, Oct 13 (Hina) - This year's Croatian Book Month, a cultural
event traditionally held from October 15 to November 15, will open
in Vukovar on Wednesday, organisers told a press conference in
Zagreb on Monday.
On that occasion, Croatian publishers and the National and
University Library will donate about 2,000 books to the Vukovar City
Library which had been partly devastated during the war.
Vukovar, the main town in the UN-administered Danube river
region of eastern Croatia, was nearly razed to the ground during the
three-month siege of Yugoslav army and Serb paramilitary forces in
the autumn of 1991.
