VUKOVAR, Oct 8 (Hina) - A Croatian Government delegation, led by
Development and Reconstruction Minister Jure Radic, held talks with
UN Transitional Administration for eastern Slavonia (UNTAES)
officials in Vukovar on Wednesday.
After the talks Radic said that they had conveyed to a deputy
to the UN Administrator, Souren Sereydarian, the remark regarding
the UN Secretary-General's latest report on the situation in the
Croatian Danube area that the report "has not taken enough account
of information offered by the Croatian Government." Croatian
officials also warned that it contained some pieces of information
given by the UNTAES which did not correspond to the truth.
The government delegation, including representatives of the
Croatian Bank for Development and Reconstruction, the Croatian
privatisation fund and guarantee agencies, talked with UNTAES
officials about the economic revival of the area.
Radic said that the government delegation warned UNTAES of
problems of entering the area under the UNTAES control, in
particular of problems which builders reconstructing the houses in
eastern Slavonia faced entering it.
UNTAES representatives pledged to give permission papers for
all cars of construction companies to pass in the area, Radici said.
He added that UNTAES had been asked to allow the displaced,
whose house should be soon renovated, to get permits to pass in the
area.
