OSIJEK, Sept 27 (Hina) - A group of about 20 German journalists
visited the UN-administered Baranja area of eastern Croatia on
Saturday.
They met the head of the Bilje municipality, Darko Varga,
and the mayor of Beli Manastir, Veljko Bertic, who informed them
about the organisation of town government and the economic
situation in the area.
The dean of the Osijek Teacher Training College, Joszef
Mikuska, informed them about the state of the Kopacki Rit nature
reserve.
The visit was organised by the Croatian embassy in Bonn.
Adviser at the embassy Zarko Plevnik said that the aim of the
visit was to acquaint German journalists with the process of
peaceful reintegration of the region into Croatia.
The German journalists were scheduled to meet the Croatian
president's deputy chief of staff, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt, in Osijek
in the afternoon.
